Caregivers are notified through emergency call (e-call) system when specific levels of heat or smoke are detected. While fixed heat detection alarms when temperature reaches 135°F, second method of detection measures rate of rise (ROR) and alarms if temperature increases at rate of 15° per minute from starting temperature of 105°F.
