Egypt's stock exchange said on Sunday a subsidiary of Russian billionaire Mikhail Fridman's Altimo had offered to buy 100 percent of Egypt's Orascom Telecom .

Altimo offers to buy rest of Orascom Telecom

(Telecompaper) Russian investment company Altimo has made an offer to buy the shares it does not already own in Egypt-based Orascom Telecom. Altimo is offering USD 0.70 a share, similar to Orascom's last closing price of EGP 4.41 the day before the announcement. The offer values all of Orascom at USD 3.67 billion. Altimo currently owns around 47.9 percent of Russian operator VimpelCom, which holds about 51.7 percent of Orascom. Orascom sold most of its assets to Vimpelcom earlier, but still controls mobile operations in Algeria, Bangladesh, Burundi, Canada, the Central African Republic, Pakistan and Zimbabwe.

Vous contribuerez dans un premier temps, au dveloppement de diffrents produits, e.g. SATELLITE SIZING TOOL assistance la conception validation, SWITCHCONF oprations, OPTOOL analyse des performances utiliss par les quipes Astrium et, pour certains, livrs des clients internationaux. Vous analyserez le besoin client, dfinirez et raliserez les volutions, en accompagnerez la mise en service en France et Angleterre vous voluerez ensuite rapidement vers la responsabilit dun ou plusieurs produits. Leighton sells 70% of telecom assets

(Telecompaper) Australian builder Leighton Holdings has reached an agreement to sell about 70 percent of its telecommunications assets to the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. The assets include Nextgen Networks, Metronode, and Infoplex businesses. The sale price values 100 percent of these businesses at AUD 885 million, the company said. Under the deal, the telecommunications businesses will remain Australian headquartered and managed with the existing management team remaining largely in place. As part of the sale, Leighton has also agreed with Teachers' an appropriate ownership structure, through the joint venture, for Leighton's interest in these businesses from closing. The transaction is expected to close in mid-2013.

Telecom NZ to cut up to 1,230 jobs

(Telecompaper) Telecom New Zealand has confirmed it plans to reduce staff levels from 7,530 to around 6,300-6,600 by the middle of this year. The reduction will be carried out through constraints on recruitment, voluntary and involuntary redundancies, and the transfer of roles to other employers associated with portfolio rationalisation decisions. The company expects to incur one-off restructuring costs of NZD 70-80 million in this financial year. Telecom believes that payroll costs (Opex and Capex) will reduce by NZD 90-110 million on an annualised basis. The company's adjusted EBITDA guidance for FY13 remains NZD 1.04-1.06 billion, which excludes the one-off restructuring costs.
