For the location in Darmstadt Germany we are looking for a Sea Surface Temperature SST Scientist at EUMETSAT. Tasks This position will include scientific and engineering aspects related to the scientific support to both SLSTR Levell Radiance and Brightness Temperature products and Level2 Sea Surface Temperature products. This will include contributions to the scientific development, maintenance, processors, calibration, validation, verification, routine monitoring and offline analysis of Levell and Level2 SLSTR marine data products in support of the Copernicus Sentinel3 marine mission. The requested support is for the Sentinel3 SLSTR optical mission product chains, but aligning with the other marine activities relating to the mandatory missions. Remotely sensed marine data also originates from the current and future EUMETSAT mandatory satellite programs EPS, EPSSG, MSG, MTG. Several marine products are currently already in operations or are in development from sensors such as A VHRR and IASI on Metop and SEVIRI on MSG and may contribute to the Copernicus services. Such data may be needed to support the validation of Sentinel3 SLSTR data, through continuous intercomparison of collocated products.
