Rising fears of a disruptive Brexit have already been materialized by a dramatic fall of UK's clothing imports in the past years, at least in dollar terms. Direct imports from low-cost countries in Asia have plunged, and not only from China, whereas shipments from European nations have surged, reflecting a radical change in the way the UK's market is being supplied. Our statistical report offers a comprehensive view of UK's overall apparel imports in the past 10 years in US$ and yen terms.
