San Antonio-based Valero Energy Corp. has asked the Texas Supreme Court to settle an ongoing legal dispute over a property tax appraisal for one of its Gulf Coast refineries. Valero filed a petition last week asking the the court to review the Galveston County Appraisal District's 2011 property tax appraisal for the company's refinery in Texas City.
