TeliaSonera sees risks in Eurasia as profit drops

Sweden's main telecom operator TeliaSonera AB on Friday said it expects risks in Eurasia, one of its main growth regions, to increase this year and remain challenging but for the overall earnings trend to improve somewhat in the second half of the year. Net profit at the Stockholm-based firm fell 8.2% to 3.26 billion Swedish kronor from SEK3.55 billion in the same period a year ago, undershooting a median forecast for SEK3.66 billion according to analysts polled by FactSet.
