The VFW Post in Batavia is in a poor state of repair, and Rep. Chris Collins is pushing legislation that could help the post, and veteran's service organizations throughout the country. Incoming post commander Ronald Jackett gave a tour of the building, with it's stained and missing ceiling tiles, corroded bathrooms and peeling paint.

Hyundai Motor Group's U.S. sales rise in April on back of extra incentives

Korea's Hyundai Motor Group saw its sales in the United States jump in April as Hyundai and Kia boosted incentives for their American customers. Hyundai Motor America says its sales rose three percent to just over 68-thousand units last month, setting a new April record.
Environmental groups file briefs to appeal Cadiz water project

Three conservation groups filed their opening briefs in an appeal to block Los Angeles-based Cadiz Inc. from pumping Mojave Desert water and shipping much of it out of San Bernardino County to meet the needs of South Orange County residents. Last year, six Orange County Superior Court judgements upheld various governmental approvals and environmental reviews of the project which involves the pumping of 16 million gallons of Mojave Desert land for up to 50 years.

Telecom trade groups, ISPs ask for delay of net neutrality rules

Five telecom trade groups and two broadband providers have asked the U.S. Federal Communications Commission to put a hold on net neutrality rules it recently approved. Seeking a partial stay of the FCC's rules are trade groups USTelecom, CTIA, the National Cable and Telecommunications Association, the American Cable Association and the Wireless Internet Service Providers Association as well as ISPs AT&T and CenturyLink.
