Used as discharge or balancing resistor, RW Discharge Resistor is designed for facilitated and accelerated mounting onto capacitors. RoHS-compliant product, rated up to 22 W, comes in 10, 13, and 22 W power ratings with respective ohmic values of 1–15 kΩ, 1–2 kΩ, and 1–33 kΩ. Operating range is -55 to +200°C, and overload/over-voltage capacity is 10X rated power for 5 sec. Other characteristics include linear de-rating from 80 to 175°C and temperature coefficient of 30 ppm and 100 ppm/°C.

Designed for connection to secondary-side of current sensing transformers, VFR Bulk Metal® Foil Burden through-hole resistor offers TCR down to ±0.2 ppm/°C from -55 to +125°C, 25°C ref, and load-life stability of ±0.005% after 2,000 hr at 0.1 W at 70°C. Resistor is usually connected to output of power device for discharging of bulk output filter capacitor when charged and connected to power source. Max power is 0.6 W at +70°C, and resistance range is 1–500 Ω.
