Giant Eagle will be closing all eight of its Good Cents + More stores, the O'Hara grocer's entry into the limited assortment discount grocery category dominated by players like Aldi and Save-A-Lot. Four of the locations -- including one on McKnight Road in Ross, plus sites in Erie, West Erie and Johnstown -- are in Pennsylvania.

Giant Eagle announced today that charges made against it in a patent dispute over its fuel perks program have been dismissed. Dallas-based Excentus Corp. filed a lawsuit against O'Hara Township-based Giant Eagle Inc. in February 2013, claiming the grocer infringed on its patents and claimed it provided software to run its fuelperks! program.
