Grupo Posadas, a major player in the Mexican hospitality industry, is joining forces with Las Vegas-based private equity firm Bighorn Capital to bring the GP's high-end boutique hotel brand, Live Aqua, to Miami. Per its agreement with Grupo Posadas, Bighorn Capital will invest $450 million to develop Live Aqua properties in Miami and four other United States markets - Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston and Washington, D.C. Grupo Posadas said these five markets were initially targeted for the new hotels because they have substantial Hispanic populations and attract numerous Latin American travelers that will help fill the hotels with guests.
