Abercrombie Sales Plummet 14 Percent

Teen apparel retailer Abercrombie & Fitch Co reported a 14 percent fall in quarterly sales due to weak demand, a strong dollar, and higher discounts. The company's net loss widened to $63.2 million, or 91 cents per share, in the first quarter ended May 2, from $23.7 million, or 32 cents per share, a year earlier.

Hampton Roads coal exports plummet

For the first time in nearly four month, coal exports from a number of Hampton Roads terminals -- including Kinder Morgan's Pier IX and Dominion Terminal Associates in Newport News -- have dropped, according to a Virginian-Pilot report. The port's three large coal terminals, which also includes Norfolk Southern Corp.'s Pier 6 terminal at Lambert Point, exported 11 million tons from January through April, according to Norfolk-based shipping agent T. Parker Host.
