Based on H.265 video encoding standard, Pre-Production Software Codec is optimized for KeyStone-based multi-core digital signal processor. H.265 standard takes advantage of parallel processing, making C6678 DSP suitable for H.265 implementation via eight 1.25 GHz DSP cores capable of delivering 320 GMACs and 160 GFLOPs of combined fixed- and floating-point performance. Video coding algorithms employed in H.265 codec are optimized for execution on Advantech's DSPC-8681 and DSPC-8682 PCIe cards.
