Demand for cattle to send to graze-out wheat and summer grass helped lift calf and feeder prices this week. Calves traded mostly $3-$8 per cwt higher this week, according to the Agricultural Marketing Service. Yearlings sold mostly steady to $3 higher. Strengthening wholesale beef values and cattle futures also supported calf and feeder prices. read more

Reuters: China has asked local governments in 11 provinces to ban in urban areas the selling of high-sulphur diesel that is used for industrial and farming purposes rather than in automobiles, Beijing said in a policy document released on Thursday. Facebook on Wednesday rolled out a new set of options for its 1.5 billion monthly users to use when responding to posts in their News Feeds. The six "Reactions," as Facebook has termed them, allow users to make more nuanced responses to posts rather than simply clicking on Like. The additional options are Love, Haha, Wow, Sad and Angry.
