A vacancy for a CAD Process Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage. Mission The CAD Process Engineer contributes to the development and maintenance of CAD process to ensure the mechanical design is of a high quality, is efficiently created, updated and is consistent across the group. The CAD process engineer is to become the Stevenage CAD focal point under the direction of the CAD process team leader. The successful candidate will need to gain UK Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. To give guidance and user support to the Stevenage CAD community to improve the quality and consistency of data, efficiency of the CAD processes. Identification of training needs and development of training aids, tools and documentation. Clear and interactive communication with the CAD users on these topics. Definition of CAD Process in support of all Stevenage Mechanical Design Office, 3D design and drawing office activities, principally using CATIA V5 and V6 3Dexperience, in conjunction with related PDM and ERP software and systems 3DCom, Engineering Central, SPRINT, Windchill etc. Identification of CAD softwarehardware problems and resolution from local to transnational level. Contributes to maintaining records of user requests, identification and tracking of problems and difficulties. Mechanical Design office interface with other CAD Process teams across other Airbus sites.Experience Proven experience in mechanical design activities using Catia V5 or V6 3Dexperience. Delivering CAD user support is desirable but not necessary. General drawing and design office practice including configuration control and document management. Aerospace or space industry background is desirable. Technical skills Extensive Catia V5 or V6 3Dexperience knowledge including o General workbenches including part design, product design and surface. o FTA and 3D as master principles. o Powercopies and knowledgeware. Solid understanding of 3D as master principles. Experience of other 3D applications and technologies VR, Delmia, ALM etc would be an advantage. Good vision of mechanical design office manufacturing activities, Able to make decisions and be proactive on improvements. Airbus are looking for 5 x Experienced Design Engineer Principle Design Engineers to oversee daytoday activities for a small design team 520 people. For the right person, the career path opportunities are to become a Functional Team Lead within 18 months 2 years. You will be joining the Mechanical Design Office at Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage. You will carry out Lead Designer activities for Spacecraft Structure design tasks. You will oversee day to day activities for a small team of Design Engineers ensuring all customer requirements are supported. The successful candidate will need to gain UK Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Responsibility for the control, correctness, accuracy and relevance of all drawings, models, Digital Mock Up DMU, bills of materials and Engineering Change Notes as related to the configured items for allocated projects to cost and schedule. Ensuring all outputs from the Mechanical Design Office MDO are correct to the project requirements as stated by the core team generally the Responsible Engineer All the project Design Office outputs must be checked, signed and stamped by the lead design engineer to the checklists and CATIA procedures. Authorising design signatory for manufacturing drawings, BoMs and ECOs related to the allocated project. Responsibility for the estimation and planning of DO related activities and manpower requirements to meet those tasks. Allocation of manpower is sought through the Team Leader. Supervising and mentoring of other DO design engineers working on the project. Providing support to other general DO activities, e.g. Process improvements, bids etc.We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline with working background the Aerospace industry. Excellent working knowledge and experience of CATIA V5. Strong Engineering technical background including working knowledge of GDT Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing and DFM Design for Manufacturing. Practical understanding of Design solution. Experience of VPM3DCOM Windchill BOM Management. Desirable skills experience are of interest, but NOT essential as training support will be provided. Experience managing a small team. Experience managing work packages, dealing with budgets and headcount requirements. Experience of CATIA V6. (Telecompaper) Sandvine said it has terminated its agreement with Scalar, which made an offer for the company at CAD 4.15, and cut a new deal with Procera and PNI Acquireco, which will together pay CAD 4.40 per share. The price values Sandvine at CAD 562 million and represents a 40 percent premium to Sandvine's closing price on 26 May, before bidding started for the company. Sandvine will be combined with Procera, and led by Procera CEO Lyndon Cantor, together with Procera CFO Richard Deggs. The new company will retain the Sandvine name; it will serve over 400 communications service provider customers, with over 1 billion subscribers in more than 100 countries, as well as over 500 enterprise customers and more than 100 OEM and channel partners.
