A JetBlue Airways flight attendant who allegedly tried to smuggle nearly 60 pounds of cocaine in her carry-on luggage and fled when Los Angeles International Airport security officials pulled her aside for a random baggage search has been ordered jailed without bail pending trial. Marsha Gay Reynolds, 31, who allegedly kicked off her Gucci high heels as she ran from the airport March, was initially granted $500,000 bail during a hearing in a New York court last month, but a Los Angeles judge overturned the decision.

Former LAX baggage handlers busted in cocaine smuggling case

On the same day a JetBlue Airways flight attendant was due to appear in court on charges she tried to carry 70 pounds of cocaine onto a plane at LAX, two former baggage handlers at the airport were arrested Monday for allegedly smuggling cocaine past security as part of a nationwide drug ring. Adrian Ponce, 27, and Alberto Preciado Gutierrez, 26, both of South Gate, were expected to make initial court appearances Tuesday in downtown Los Angeles.

Trial Opens for NorCal Man Accused of Choking Fellow Passenger on Flight from LAX

A man choked and punched a woman seated in front of him on a Southwest Airlines flight from Los Angeles to San Francisco after she reclined her seat, a prosecutor told a federal jury Tuesday, but his attorney said he never assaulted the passenger. Lawrence Wells, 54, of Richmond, Calif., faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted of the federal charge of assault on an airplane resulting in serious bodily injury.
