They fill up with maggots and vermin. Disposal fees can be hefty. But a start-up called Urban Stream claims to have a solution. It rents composters with a bio filter for odours. Ocotillo Road will be closed between McQueen Road and Arizona Avenue at the Union Pacific Railroad crossing Dec. 4 through Dec. 18. The closure will allow the City to widen the railroad crossing in conjunction with improvements being made to Ocotillo Road. The Ocotillo Road Improvement Project will widen Ocotillo Road from two lanes to four lanes between Arizona Avenue and McQueen Road.

A state law judge on Wednesday ordered PG&E to produce more emails related to a widening scandal that has engulfed PG&E and the Public Utilities Commission over improper attempts to influence a decision on natural gas system rates and upgrades linked to a fatal explosion in San Bruno. The ruling requires the utility to produce all internal and external emails issued or received by 10 PG&E executives or consultants in connection with a $1.29 billion PG&E revenue request to upgrade its transmission system.
