An eight-car derailment at Conway Yards in Beaver County Tuesday afternoon prompted the response of hazmat crews, according to officials. Norfolk Southern Corp. spokesman David G. Pidgeon said the cars jumped the tracks around 5:30 p.m. He said the cars remained upright, and the cause of the derailment is under investigation.

Canadian National Railway now says that 35 cars, not 33, with one carrying dangerous goods, went off the tracks near Raymore, Sask. The derailment happened at 9:45 a.m. CST Friday, just west of the town about 110 kilometres north of Regina.
