Amazon inks exclusive distribution deal for PBS kids content

(Telecompaper) Amazon and PBS Distribution have announced a multi-year agreement that will make Amazon Prime Video the exclusive premium subscription streaming home for a broad collection of PBS KIDS series. Prime members in the US will be able to watch PBS KIDS episodes via the Amazon Video app for TVs, connected devices including Fire TV, mobile devices and online. Episodes will also be available to download for offline viewing on iPads, iPhones, Android phones and tablets and Fire tablets at no additional cost.

China search engines must report banned content, check ads

(Telecompaper) China has imposed new rules on Baidu and other search engines, saying they must report banned content and verify advertiser qualifications, Bloomberg reported, citing a statement from the Cyberspace Administration of China. The rules, set to take effect on 1 August, mean search engines operating in the country will be prohibited from providing banned information in various formats including links, summaries, cached pages, associative words, related searches and relevant recommendations. They will also be required to report websites and applications that contain prohibited content when spotted.
