Norway's Coop becomes the latest Nordic firm to outsource IT to an Indian company after the retailer penned a deal with Wipro Norwegian supermarket group Coop has signed a five-year infrastructure and managed services agreement with Indian IT services provider Wipro. Coop Norge Handel AS is a leading retailer in Norway, with a market share of 33% and over 1,500 stores.

MTS Ukraine inks branding, 3G rollout deal with Vodafone

(Telecompaper) Vodafone has signed a branding deal with Russian mobile operator MTS for the Ukraine. Under the non-equity agreement, the companies will roll out 3G and develop a number of new services in the market using the Vodafone brand in Ukraine. The companies started working together in 2008. The launch of 3G services under the Vodafone brand in Ukraine will start the coming months and will include the transition of MTS's retail outlets and the majority of its dealerships. The Vodafone brand will not be used in territories currently not under the direct control of the Ukrainian government.Vodafone will also be introducing a number of its services to the Ukrainian market, including bundled offers, competitive long-distance international calls and worry-free roaming when abroad.
