EQT abandons bid for Australia's Vocus

(Telecompaper) Australian operator Vocus announced that it has terminated discussions with EQT Infrastructure in relation to its buyout proposal. On 27 May, Vocus received an from EQT to acquire all of the shares in Vocus at a price of AUD 5.25 per share in cash. Following an accelerated period of due diligence, EQT has decided not to proceed with the transaction outlined in the indicative proposal. Accordingly, discussions with EQT in relation to the proposal have now ceased, Vocus said.

EQT Infrastructure bids for Australia's Vocus

(Telecompaper) Australian operator Vocus has confirmed that it has received a takeover proposal from EQT Infrastructure at AUD 5.25 per share in cash. The company's shares closed up 17 percent higher at AUD 4.55 following the news.

Vocus ends takeover talks with KKR, as FY profit hit by AUD 1.5 bln impairment

(Telecompaper) All takeover discussions between Australian operator Vocus and KKR have ceased, with the US investment house saying it is unable to come out with terms acceptable to the Vocus board. KKR made a bid in June for the company at AUD 3.50 per share. Vocus then received another takeover offer from private equity group Affinity, in July. Giving its preference to KKR, Vocus provided the investment firm with the opportunity to conduct due diligence on a non-exclusive basis but the parties were unable to reach a mutually acceptable deal.

Vocus to buy Nextgen networks business for AUD 807 million

(Telecompaper) Australian operator Vocus is continuing its expansion with the acquisition of Nextgen Group's networks business for up to AUD 807 million. The company will acquire the North West Cable system and the other 50 percent held by Nextgen in the planned Australia Singapore Cable. The deal includes Nextgen's 17,000km national fibre network, the almostcompleted subsea Port Hedland to Darwin cable and the proposed Perth to Singapore subsea cable. Nextgen will continue to own its data centre business, Metronode, which operates as a separate entity.
