State's only nuclear power plant turns 30 years old

The only nuclear power plant in the Northwest, the Columbia Generating Station at Richland, turned 30 years old over the weekend. It's owned by the Energy Northwest utility consortium and it supplies a share of the electricity used by 92 Northwest utilities through the Bonneville Power Administration.

Early slowdown signs emerge for U.S. oil states after crude slide

After leading the U.S. economic recovery out of recession, some of the nation's top oil states are showing early signs of a slowdown as a result of the plunge in crude prices. In Houston, Texas, the first oil industry layoffs have been announced, with realtors there predicting a sharp decline, up to 12 percent, in home sales next year.

's stock had its "underperform" rating reiterated by equities research analysts at Bank of America in a research note issued to investors on Thursday. They currently have a $29.00 price target on the stock, down from their previous price target of $32.00.

Colorado eco devo commission questions state's role in maintaining Frontier Airlines jobs

Frontier Airlines' recent actions are touching off a debate among Colorado economic-development leaders about what step - if any - is appropriate for the state to take to try to keep the Denver-headquartered airline from moving jobs out of state. Frontier CEO David Siegel sent a letter to employees on Nov. 17 warning them that the airline will cut jobs and routes at Denver International Airport in 2015 as it converts from a traditional business model to that of being an ultra-low-cost carrier.
