Apple developer site hit by hacking attack
2013-07-22 08:48:00| Telecompaper Headlines
(Telecompaper) Apple reported a hacking attempt on its developer website. The company said "an intruder" attempted to secure personal information about registered developers. While their personal information was encrypted, Apple said it could not rule out the possibility that some developers' names and addresses may have been accessed. The site was taken down immediately after the attack on 18 July, and the company has been working to restore access. To prevent any similar security threats in future, Apple said it was "completely overhauling our developer systems, updating our server software, and rebuilding our entire database". It apologised to developers and said it hopes to have the site back up soon.
