Minimum wages will be raised in most low-income Asian countries as of January, as detailed in our below report, except in Myanmar where the new level of minimum wages is still being discussed and in Bangladesh where apparel exporters have themselves suggested to increase the minimum wage in order to avoid strikes and social unrest. Our report displays minimum wages in Asian and Latin American apparel manufacturing countries, with annual increases as of Janaury 1st 2018 in local currency and US$ terms, compared with 2015, 2016 and 2017.
