Yesterday, one of the first American Apparel stores to arrive in New York City shut its doors. The company, in the midst of Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, seems to be hinting that its memorable store at 183 East Houston Street didn't make the cut because of its performance, but a statement we received from American Apparel yesterday says otherwise: "This store closure is a next step in implementing our previously announced turnaround plan , which includes underperforming locations and investing in new stores in promising areas."

ISEA seeks public comments by November 23, 2015 on draft revisions to voluntary consensus standards for high-visibility safety apparel and hand protection selection. Proposed revision seeks to consolidate requirements of ANSI/ISEA 107 and ANSI/ISEA 207, American National Standard for Public Safety Vests, to establish one document that considers all occupational tasks. Updates will reflect current technologies, applications, and use as well as harmonize criteria with international standards.
