Microsoft to launch USD 500 Xbox One in November

(Telecompaper) Microsoft has announced that it will launch the new Xbox One game console in 21 markets around the world in November 2013. Billed as the "ultimate all-in-one entertainment system built for the 21st century living room", the system will sell for USD 499.99 in the US, GBP 429 in the UK and EUR 499 elsewhere in Europe. The Xbox One system will include the new console, featuring a 500GB hard drive, Blu-ray player and Wi-Fi, the new Kinect, an upgraded wireless controller and a 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold for new members. Microsoft has also unveiled a new design for the Xbox 360, shipping immediately in the US, UK, Canada, Ireland and Australia.

Microsoft: Xbox One will be always-online, publishers can disable game trade-ins

In a blog post on the Xbox.com, Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox One requires an always-on internet connection for playing games. Furthermore, the same blog post tells us that publishers will have the power to disable trade-ins of their games, decimating the second-hand games market.
