We are currently looking for a PA and Safety Support Engineer to work in the beautiful city of Noordwijk. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Supporting the Copernicus Space Segment Product Assurance Safety PAS Manager in all activities related to the execution of the Product Assurance tasks for the Copernicus Programme and particular for the Copernicus Expansion missions HPCMs Supporting the predevelopment activities for the HPCMs from PA point of view by ensuring the achievement of the required technological readiness, in cooperation with the engineering function Support the internal Copernicus coordination for the Materials Processes tasks MPCBs in order to improve effectiveness of the review process with Industry Producing reports on project and review activities, including conclusions and recommendations where necessary, participating in progress meetings when needed and reporting on project PA status. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory Masters Degree in engineering or technical sciences. Relevant experience in PA Safety management in the space domain. Several years experience in the space sector, including 5 years in Product and Quality Assurance. Experience in supporting RD and predevelopment activities. Excellent interpersonal skills are needed, together with a high degree organizational and communication abilities, and comfortable with working in a diverse and multinational team environment. Fluency in English. The following skills would be highly desirable Solid background in MP quality. Knowledge of Configuration Management or the implementation of Product Assurance within a quality system certified to ISO 9001. How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level? Summary An opportunity for an experienced safety engineer to work for Telespazio VEGA UK in support of ESAESTEC, providing support to ESA at the Radio Navigation and System and Technology Section for safety related activities related to Navigation Projects with respect to Functional Safety, in applications such as in railway, maritime and automotive. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but are not limited to Supporting Navigation Projects and RD activities in the fields of safetyrelated PositionNavigationTiming PNT applications including aspects related to PVT integrity and assurance security Participation in studies supporting current and future PNT systems definition andor analysis for security and safetyrelated applications e.g. regarding system architecture, ground processing and user segment technologies Supporting the activities relating to technology development, standardisation and working groups on PVT assurance and safetyrelated PNT applications Design, definition and follow up of industrial contracts related to the procurement of GNSS testbeds and receivers for infrastructure or user applications, and in particular, for what concerns safetyrelated applications e.g. in railway, maritime and automotive sectors, PVT integrity and assurance security Supporting design, implementation, maintenance and operation of Radio Navigation equipment, complex Radio Navigation simulation tools and test facilities for testing features endtoend performances, receivers, etc. in the aforementioned activities Supporting endtoend Navigation Project System Integration, Validation and Qualification activities in particular for new features and receivers in the area of safetyrelated applications e.g. in railway, maritime and automotive sectors including PVT integrity and assurance security aspects.. Qualifications Experience PhD or Masters degree in Telecommunications, Microwave or RF Electronics Engineering or related specialisation. 510 years of experience in fields related to the intended activities. A background and experience in GNSS systems and technologies, in particular for PVT integrity including SBAS, RAIMARAIM, integration of sensors, etc. would be an asset Experience in system design and technologies in the field of wireless systems for safetyrelated applications e.g. radionavigation and telecommunications, and in the field of user equipment technologies e.g. signal processing, design, performances, standardization, etc. for wireless systems e.g. GNSS, 3GPP, etc. would be desired. Background or experience in at least one of the following is desirable wireless security, GNSS PVT assurance, any of the aforementioned application domains railway, automotive, maritime and their associated safety standards.. Essential Skills Good English language skills Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to present and effectively communicate quality system processes. Good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team environment. Ability to promote cooperation and excellent skills in teamworking and problem solving.
