Product Assurance PA and Safety Engineer

Summary A great opportunity for an experienced Product Assurance PA and Safety Engineer to join the Telespazio VEGA UK team, working in the Netherlands. Objective To support activities related to the execution of the organisations Product Assurance and Safety Programme. Responsibilities Duties The successful candidate will have the opportunity to Provide PA Safety support to assigned activities activities Review test procedures and test reports Witness test executions and report on the status and major issues Participate in TRRs, PTRs, TRBs Support configuration inspections as needed Supporting the process for evaluation and approval of contractors waivers and deviations and the preparation of System waivers and deviations Contribute to the identification and processing of nonconformances and to the proceedings of Nonconformance Review Boards NRB Participate in Project Reviews at System level, and at Segment level when requested, by reviewing documentations, raising comments and RIDs, discussing them with industry and providing feedback particularly on major critical areas Provide PAS support to the assigned development activities as required Maintain the Office PAS tools and repositories Management System and the implementation of other Management Systems e.g. Information Security. Qualifications Experience Masters degree and a background in space engineering. Significant experience in the space sector including 5 years in Product and Quality Assurance. Practical experience in using Office PAS tools and repositories. Experience within a manufacturing or assembly environment. Qualities Strong English language skills Excellent interpersonal skills are needed, A high degree organizational and communication abilities are required Ability to work in a diverse and multinational team environment is essential. Summary A rare opportunity for an experienced safety engineer to join the Telespazio VEGA UK team, working on site at ESTEC, supporting human spaceflight and ISS safety analysis. Objective To join the Independent Safety Office, within the TEC Directorate, participating in safety reviews and assessments for International Space Station systems and payloads. Responsibilities Duties The successful candidate will be expected to Support the ESA Safety Review Panel chairman in the conduct of ESA safety reviews for the certification of International Space Station systems and payloads Provide technical support to projects for the interpretation of safety requirements and the preparation of the safety review data package Assess safety analyses and safety compliance data packages prepared by cargo items providers industrial contractors, experimenters, National Agencies, ISS commercial users and provide detailed written feedback Support safety review meetings as Operations Safety panel expert Review the implementation of entries in the ESA Operations Control Agreement Database eOCAD Support ESA in the review of ISS Change Requests relevant to Safety requirements Execute any other safety engineering related task upon request of the ESA Technical Responsible Provide support to the ESRP Chairperson for the aspect associated to resolution of technical issues and conduction of safety reviews Provide safety engineering support to the ISS flight operations team Provide safetyengineering support during mission preparation and execution for anomalies and unplanned maintenance Provide safety assessment of onorbit anomalies Qualifications Experience University Masters degree or equivalent in relevant subject area Essential Skills Relevant experience in the design and engineering of safety critical systems Handson knowledge of the safety analyses and methodologies Experience in human spaceflight safety with emphasis on the application of ISS safety requirements and processes Knowledge of ISS systems, subsystems and payloads, of ISS safety requirements and their related implementation Extended understanding of the hazard which are intrinsic of a system andor induced by space operations, and the way they are eliminated or controlled Knowledge of the way safety data are generated, validated and retained in support of the ISS programme safety certification Knowledge of Configuration Management Extensive knowledge of system safety engineering principle, methods and processes Knowledge of ISS operations environment.
