(Telecompaper) Vodafone Americans has announced plans to introduce mobile services for Vodafone's more than 400 multinational (MNC) customers based in the US and a further 500 Vodafone MNC customers based outside the country but with a strong US presence. US services will be offered under a mobile virtual network operator agreement on the T-Mobile network. Service launch is scheduled for late fall 2015.

Vodafone Spain to launch LTE-A in 4 cities in October

(Telecompaper) Vodafone Spain announced the commercial launch of LTE-A services in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville and Valencia in October. CEO Antonio Coimbra revealed the operator's plans at the XXVIII telecommunications and digital economy meeting held at Menendez Pelayo university in Santander. Vodafone has been conducting LTE-A trials using its 4G network in the 1800 MHz and 2600 MHz bands throughout 2014, and has reached top speeds of 300 Mbps, compared to 150 Mbps available under the standard LTE network. Coimbra said the deployment would be accelerated as soon as the government frees up the 800 MHz frequency on 01 January 2015, which will also enable the operator to increase its 4G coverage from 600 to 1,000 localities by March of next year. In addition, Coimbra disclosed that Vodafone will this month begin trials of voice services over its LTE network (VoLTE). The technology offers better call quality as well as connection speeds up to 20 times faster than VoIP over 3G. It also allows customers to easily switch between voice and video within a call.
