083 ABPZ20 KNHC 040517 TWOEP Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 1100 PM PDT Wed Oct 3 2018 For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane Sergio, located several hundred miles southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. Disorganized showers and thunderstorms located just southwest of Costa Rica are associated with a broad area of low pressure. Some slow development of this system is possible over the next several days as the low drifts northward and northwestward near Central America. Regardless of development, heavy rains could cause flash floods and mudslides in mountainous areas of western Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala through early next week. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...low...30 percent. $$ Forecaster Berg

188 ABNT20 KNHC 040516 TWOAT Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 200 AM EDT Thu Oct 4 2018 For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane Leslie, located over the central Atlantic Ocean. A large cyclonic gyre, defined by a broad area of low pressure typical of this time of the year, covers a portion of Central America and the western Caribbean Sea. This system is accompanied by an extensive area of disorganized clouds and thunderstorms, and although surface pressures are relatively low in the area, upper-level winds are currently highly unfavorable for tropical cyclone formation.
