Showers and a few thunderstorms located several hundred miles southeast of the southern coast of Mexico are associated with a tropical wave. Environmental conditions could become more favorable for some development late this week or over the weekend as the system moves westward at around 15 mph. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent. An area of low pressure is expected to form late this week a few hundred miles south of the coast of southern Mexico.
