Senior Engineer, User Experience Design United States Manassas, Virginia Your Job SES is in a unique place, tremendously profitable, with the largest satellite fleet in the world and a deep history of satellite innovation. As the Senior Engineer, User Experience Design you will understand the power of great service experience and its ability to inspire customer behavior. You have a keen understanding on how to design exceptional services, both in front of the house and behind the scenes. Most of all you see all of this in the context of furthering our clients core mission or business. Your Responsibilities Leads design and product teams in facilitating discovery activities with customers, users and stakeholders Analyzes and synthesizes a myriad of large data sets to uncover unknown or unmet needs Conducts formative and contextual user research to understand users goals, needs, journeys, and pain points Leads design teams in prototyping, testing and evaluative research activities Applies insights from user research studies to define Minimum Viable Product MVP functionality Conducts routine, iterative usability testing to continually improve the user experience and to inform content, information architecture, design, functionality, and accessibility Builds rapport with the client by seeing assigned tasks in the context of broader strategic goals, anticipating risks, and supporting decision through wellresearched, datadriven reports Develop key design artifacts including but not limited to scoping documents, research plans, user personas, journey maps, service blueprints, workflow diagrams, low and highfidelity prototypes Ability to interpret research insights into design solutions and design improvements, with an understanding of user empathy, voice of the customer, and organizational context and constraints Your Competencies Written and verbal communication Problemsolving Selfmotivated Servant Leader Positive attitude Prioritization MentorCoach Global cultural awareness Team player Analytical Workshop facilitation Your Profile Required Seniority will be based on experience Minimum 810 years of combined education and experience in user experience design engineering, human centered designed engineering, or related field Advanced knowledge of evaluative research tools such as AB Testing, journey mapping, interviewing skills, low fidelity prototype testing, andor root cause analysis Comfortable interacting with key stakeholders and acting as the voice of the customer Independently manages time to complete assigned tasks, leads others in completing tasks, and contributes to team effort 20 of domestic and international travel Preferred Bachelors degree in user experience design engineering, human centered designed engineering, or related field Moderate knowledge of eliciting requirements and synthesizing information from multiple sources to design rich customer experiences Certification from HumanCentered Design or innovation programstraining Whats in it for you?
