July 14, 2015: With China poised to become the world's largest tire market by 2017, the Cooper Tire & Rubber Company family of companies continues to expand its presence in the region by teaming with tire dealers on a new retail concept for Cooper-branded tire sales and service superstores. Over the past eight months, the company and local dealer partners have opened four Cooper Superfeel Centers in Shanghai, Beijing, Shandong, and Chengdu, and Cooper plans to team with additional dealers to open two more Superfeel Centers in China before the end of this year.

Overtime plan might impact dealers

Car dealers may have to pay more to employees who work more than 40 hours a week or tweak pay plans to avoid doing so. White-collar workers such as managers are exempt from overtime pay if they make a salary-based compensation of more than $455 a week, or $23,660 a year.

Judge dismisses class action by GM Canada dealers, upholds claim against law firm

A class-action lawsuit by former General Motors of Canada Ltd. dealers against the company has been dismissed but their claim against a Toronto law firm has been upheld. The dealers, who were terminated as the auto maker successfully staved off bankruptcy protection under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act in 2009, have been awarded $45-million in damages against Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP.
