Spacecraft Systems Engineer Senior

OQ Technology Sarl is looking for a candidate for a Spacecraft Systems Engineer Senior role at its facility in Luxembourg to participate in building our first spacecraft. Location Luxembourg Start Date ASAP JobType FullTime Responsibilities You will be the main architect and project responsible of the space segment. You will support the CTO by performing systems engineering analyses and oversee the development of a full spacecraft. You will be the designer of the space mission and will coordinate and lead the space segment developmentprocurement. You will work closely with the other engineers and external companies. Below is a summary of the typical tasks required for this post 1 Support system concept development, system architecture development, system and subsystem requirements development, systems analysis and trade studies, and systems modeling and simulation PDRCDR. 2 Identify requirements, participate in design activities, and lead assembly, integration, and test activities AIT. 3 Track mission and system configuration information such as mass properties, power, TTC, OBDH and performance data or writing complex specifications and interface control documents ICDIRD. 4 Produce and maintain system budgets power, volume, memory, mass etc. 5 Participate and oversee functional and environmental test campaigns by reviewing requirements, test specifications, planning, costing, risk assessment, test execution and verification control. 6 Project management, Project planning and test tracking. 7 Preparation of ESA management and technical documentation for project reviews. Requirements Mandatory Knowledge 1 Minimum of 5 years of experience with mechanical andor electrical design of small satellite systems in industry or academia title depends on seniority level. 2 Proven knowledge in spacecraft systems and subsystems design, and mission operations and be able to quickly develop subject matter expertise in a specific project. 3 M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering or a similar qualification from a recognized institution. 4 Knowledge of ECSS standards. 5 Proficiency in spoken and written English. 6 EU citizenship or residence permit. Desirable Knowledge 1 Proven handson experience in one or more of the following AOCS electronics design, electrical power systems, thermal analysis, or integration and testing of aerospace systems. 2 Knowledge of spacecraft operations and related ground systems preferred 3 Experience with CubeSat projects. 4 Demonstrated technical lead andor project management experience. 5 Selfstarter who works with a sense of urgency. 6 Ability to adapt to change in an entrepreneurial environment. 7 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 8 Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team. 9 Orbital Mechanics. Tools Knowledge in these tools is advantageous Satellite Toolkit STK, MATLAB, NASTRAN, SysML, C or Python. Ground Systems Operations Engineer 1813017 Job Description We are looking for a Ground Systems Operations Engineer to support our client EUMETSAT. You would will be working within the System Engineering and Projects SEP Division supporting system engineering activities for Operational systems. You will be a member of a multidisciplinary system engineering team interacting with operational programmes and future programmes and will support the SEP Division with the following activities Supporting the specification of Ground Segment components. Supporting the consolidation, evolution and maintenance of the Ground Segment reference architecture. This includes Requirements engineering, including requirements analysis and validation, requirements allocation, tracing and requirements change control Functional analysis and architectureinterface design applying system modelling engineering methods and techniques. System analyses, performed for the purpose of resolving requirements conflicts, decomposing and allocating requirements, assessing system effectiveness. Tradeoff studies for assessing effectiveness, risk, cost and planning for the implementation of changes requested by operations users and customers. Supporting the assessment of impacts to the Ground Segment of changes required for operational systems, resulting from evolution and maintenance activities. This includes Analysing engineering change requests on the operational ground segments Supporting the investigation of anomalies on the ground segment, including the endtoend view and understanding of the systems Coordinating with different teams in order to assess the impact of the requested changes Attending daily operationrelated meetings in order to remain uptodate with the progress of the activities Updating and maintaining related documentation. Required Skills and Experience University degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline. At least 5 years demonstrated experience in the field of systems engineering and architectural design, maintenance and operations of ground segment systems. Knowledge of the systems making up a ground segment, their interrelations, interactions and understand the implications that making changes in one system have on others. Extensive experience in the analysis of systems applications and modelling. Space and Ground System engineering processes, System and Software lifecycles and standards. Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering methods, techniques and tools. Desirable Skills and Experience Familiarity with formal architecture frameworks e.g., MODAF, TOGAF, DODAF will be a valuable appreciated asset. Definition, management and traceability of requirements with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS. You shall be able to fulfill the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision, have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple parallel tasks. You shall have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Good communications skills verbal and written are important. You shall be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. You shall have good interpersonal skills and proactive attitude with strong ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
