Santorum: Climate change about 'political science'
2015-06-07 16:22:00| Climate Ark Climate Change & Global Warming Newsfeed
Hill: Former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) said on Sunday science behind climate change arguments is far from settled. This is what bothers me about this debate the idea that the science is settled, he told host Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. Anytime you hear a scientist say, the science is settled, thats political science and not real science, Santorum added. No scientist in his right mind would ever say the science is settled. Santorum, a 2016 GOP presidential candidate, was responding...

Pope Francis the chemist should give Congress a science lesson
2015-06-07 16:00:00| Climate Ark Climate Change & Global Warming Newsfeed
Time: Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum has called on Pope Francis to "leave science to the scientists' in an effort to avoid supporting the pope`s message on protecting the environment and fighting climate change. With the pope's upcoming encyclical, or letter, on the subject set to be released in the next two weeks, it`s unlikely that this will be the last time we hear a prominent Republican use this line. One big problem: Pope Francis is no scientific illiterate. He has a degree in chemistry...

The findings by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) researchers that there was no warming "hiatus" over the past 15 years could reshape consensus science on recent climate change. The research undercuts an argument of pundits and politicians who oppose taking action. In the new report, NOAA's...

Scientists Drop Science Bomb on Climate-Change Skeptics
2015-06-04 22:48:00| Climate Ark Climate Change & Global Warming Newsfeed
New York Magazine: Over the last couple of years, the conservative movement, which loves science, has had a completely scientific-based reason for skepticism about climate change. The Earth's temperature seemed to be rising at a slower rate than scientists had predicted. The global warming "pause,' as it was inaccurately called -- it was actually "getting warmer at a slower-than-expected rate,' rather than an actual pause -- served as grist for a massive flow of coverage expressing skepticism about scientific models...
