With RheocalcT Software, operators can automate viscosity testing from PC when using DV3T Rheometer and DV2T Viscometer. Loop functions allow performance of repetitive tasks on test samples that require viscosity measurement at multiple rotational speeds, different temperature set points, and discreet time intervals. RheocalcT collects data and allows it to be saved, viewed, printed, plotted, and analyzed. QC limits for acceptable viscosity values can be displayed directly on data graph. The activities will be carried out at our customers premises in Garching, Germany. A Senior Software Engineer is required for quality assurance testing of software applications developed for use by the Atacama Large MillimeterSubmillimeter Array ALMA and the Very Large Telescope VLT projects, managed by ESO. The post requires a minimum of 3 years experience in testing UNIX preferably Scientific Linux based complex software systems, including familiarity with software development and test methodologies and with standard software engineering practices. Manual and automated testing procedures will be established in collaboration with ESO teams and software developers, and the test results investigated and reported. Inspection tools for automated testing will be maintained and developed, and standardized across other ESO projects. Mandatory experience and skills for this position include the following University degree in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Experience in testing complex software systems running under UNIXLinux Extensive use of UNIXLinux tools and scripting languages UNIX shell and Perl Extensive use of Makefiles and software build tools Knowledge of test automation procedures Experience with continuous integration of software processes and related tooling such as CruiseControl will be an additional desired skill. The post will initially be for a period of 3 years at the Garching headquarters of ESO, with a possible extension of a further 2 years. The candidate should be fully proficient in English, the working language of ESO, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
