Apple grows revenues 1% as services expansion offsets lower iPhone sales

Samsung guides for lower Q2 revenues, flat operating profit

(Telecompaper) Samsung Electronics said it expects to report second-quarter revenues of about KRW 58 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 14.8 trillion. The year before, revenues rose 20 percent to KRW 61 trillion while the operating profit jumped almost 73 percent to KRW 14.07 trillion.

Qualcomm quarterly results fall, sees flat revenues, lower profit ahead

(Telecompaper) Qualcomm reported revenues for its fiscal second quarter to March down 13 percent year-on-year to USD 5.26 billion, in line with its outlook. Compared to the previous quarter, revenues rose 5 percent. Net earnings dropped 52 percent to USD 363 million or USD 0.24 per share, hurt by restructuring charges of USD 310 million. The chipmaker said it was making good progress with its USD 1 billion cost-reduction target and meeting its growth targets for 2019.
KPN Q2 revenues lower, improves EBITDA, FY outlook

(Telecompaper) KPN reported second-quarter revenues down 3.8 percent year-on-year to EUR 1.75 billion, while adjusted EBITDA rose 1.5 percent to EUR 602 million, in line with market expectations. Capital expenditure reached EUR 306 million, and free cash flow totaled EUR 232 million. The weak business market put pressure on revenues, while KPN said it started to see EBITDA stabilising in other areas. The Dutch operator raised its outlook for 2015 to adjusted EBITDA in line with 2014, capex of less than EUR 1.3 billion and free cash flow of over EUR 500 million. In addition the company expects to receive a dividend from its stake in Telefonica Deutschland. KPN's own dividend for the year is forecast at 8 cents a share, with an interim payment of 3 cents in September, and the dividend should increase in 2016. In addition KPN will pay a special dividend of 3.4 cents a share from the dividend received from Telefonica Germany for 2014.

M1 revenues fall on lower handset sales in Q4

(Telecompaper) Singaporean communications provider M1 reported a net profit of SGD 40.5 million for Q4, up 7.1 percent from SGD 37.9 million in the year-ago quarter. However, operating revenues were down 14.9 percent to SGD 278.6 million from SGD 327.4 million a year earlier. Handset sales slumped 46.3 percent to SGD 71.6 million. EBITDA fell 2.1 percent to SGD 79.1 million. M1 said it ended 2013 with 2.11 million mobile subscribers, up by 35,000 over the year.
