AT&T, Verizon prepare for 5G commercial launch later in 2018

(Telecompaper) US operators are rushing to become the first to launch 5G services. AT&T announced that it expects to be the first with a launch of mobile 5G service in a dozen markets by late 2018. Verizon meanwhile announced a contract with Samsung to start commercial 5G fixed-wireless services in Sacramento, California in the second half of 2018.
