The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company, better known as A&P, is on the verge of filing for bankruptcy, a move that will likely spell the end as we know it of one of the nation's largest supermarket chains. The New York Post reports that the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing is expected any day now, and it could affect the many stores the company has in the Hudson Valley.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said that Tesla Motors Inc. shouldn't expect to open Lone Star state sales outlets any time soon. Tesla has been trying for two years to crack the nation's second-largest automobile market.

Micron: If a Deal Were to Happen, Look Out For Oversupply, Says Morgan Stanley

As I mentioned earlier , Micron Technology has gotten one upgrade this morning based on speculation of a $21-per-share bid by Chinese government-backed chip maker Tsinghua Unigroup. Morgan Stanley 's Joseph Moore raised his rating on the stock to Equal Weight from Underweight, writing that the re-valuation of Micron's potential as a take-out target "puts a floor" under the stock price even though there are still worries about the DRAM market.

VW interim chairman to stay on, hunt for Piech successor continues, report says

Volkswagen AG is still looking for a successor to former chairman Ferdinand Piech, meaning the interim holder of the position, Berthold Huber, is likely to stay until at least the end of the year, a German newspaper reported on Sunday. Following the departure of patriarch Ferdinand Piech in April, who resigned after losing a showdown with CEO Martin Winterkorn, former union boss Huber was meant to hold the role for only a few months, Bild am Sonntag reported.
