Portland Fire & Rescue Receives Over $4 Million Grant from Federal Government to Save Jobs, Stations

Portland Fire & Rescue learned that its application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for a grant to fund 26 firefighter positions for two years was approved. Thanks to this funding from the federal government, $4,554,394 from the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grant program (SAFER) will go toward keeping Portlands emergency response capabilities at its current levels.
