Bottom Dollar closing Jan. 15; Washington Crown Center and Uniontown Mall up for sale

Bottom Dollar Food has set a final closing date of Jan. 15 for its 66 stores in the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia regions. The discount grocery chain owned by Belgium-based Delhaize Group expects the $15 million sale of the store locations to competitor Aldi to close sometime in the first quarter.

As sales volumes for sodas remain sluggish, Coca-Cola attempted to diversify its portfolio by striking deals with Monster Beverage and Kuerig Green Mountain to expand its offerings. The deal with Monster Beverage could lift revenues by $750 million-$800 million in 2015, while also expanding the exposure of Coca-Cola into the energy drink market.
