Commuter Alert: Track Construction To Delay VRE Trains

CSX Transportation will be performing railroad track and switch upgrades on VRE's Fredericksburg Line, south of the Fredericksburg Station, beginning Monday, May 11, and continuing through Friday, May 29. This construction will affect both northbound and southbound Virginia Railway Express trains and could delay trains by 30 to 45 minutes from this coming Monday to Thursday, May 21, and by 10 to 20 minutes from Friday, May 22, to Thursday, May 28. Once complete, the capacity, speed and reliability of VRE trains will be improved and delays reduced, as trains will be able to switch between multiple tracks.

Both sides in Pavillion groundwater lawsuit agree to delay

Both sides in a federal lawsuit over potentially tainted groundwater in the Pavillion area have agreed to suspend certain proceedings in the case pending the upcoming release of a state report on pollution testing of water wells. The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality initially planned to release a report late last year on testing of domestic water wells in the area.
Telecom trade groups, ISPs ask for delay of net neutrality rules

Five telecom trade groups and two broadband providers have asked the U.S. Federal Communications Commission to put a hold on net neutrality rules it recently approved. Seeking a partial stay of the FCC's rules are trade groups USTelecom, CTIA, the National Cable and Telecommunications Association, the American Cable Association and the Wireless Internet Service Providers Association as well as ISPs AT&T and CenturyLink.
