Eagan police on Tuesday were investigating the apparent suicide of a former West St. Paul bank manager charged last week with embezzling more than $1.1 million from customers. Van Dusartz was charged Feb. 29 in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis with one count of felony embezzlement by a bank officer or employee.

Reuters: Award-winning American environmental photographer Gary Braasch died on Monday while snorkeling at the northern end of the Great Barrier Reef. Braasch, 70, from Portland, Oregon, was snorkeling with a companion at the Australian Museum's Lizard Island Research Station, the museum said in a statement.
