Overview The postholderwill be responsible forthe following tasks and activities Support the EuclidProduct Assurance Safety PAS Manager in allactivities related to the execution of the Product Assurance Programmefor theEuclid Project and deputising for the PAS Manager asrequired Participateto the manufacturing, integration and test activities, e.g.manufacturing readiness reviews MRR, mandatory inspection pointsMIPs, test readiness reviews TRRs, test review boards TRBs Support the Risk Management and Configuration Managementprocesses within the ESA Project Team, including the disposition ofRequest for Deviations and Request for Waivers RFDs RFWs Supporting the PAS Manager to ensure the effective implementationand execution of the nonconformance identification and reportingmechanisms within the contractor supply chain and confirm the correctand formal closure of nonconformances Assist the PAS Manager in ensuring that all formally delivered items within the Project supply chain conform with requirements using formalacceptance reviews Delivery Review Boards DRBs Produce reports on project and review activities, including conclusionsand recommendations where necessary, participate in progressmeetings, when needed and reporting on project PA status. Specific qualification requirements Academic qualification MSc. inengineering. Minimum of 10 years experience in the space sector, including 5 years in Product and Quality Assurance Excellent interpersonal skills are needed, together with a high degree of organizational and communication abilities, and comfortable with workingin a diverse and multinational team environment. Languages skills Fluent English written and spoken. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line withESA Job Class. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. Scientific Programmer for the Euclid Mission Location Kapteyn Astronomical Institutehttpwww.rug.nlresearchkapteyn, Groningen The Kapteyn Astronomical Institute of the University of Groningen seeks a scientific python programmer for the Euclid Netherlands Science Data Centre SDCNL. The SDCNL will be operated as a partnership between the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute and the Donald Smits Centre of Information Technology. The Euclid mission has been selected for the Cosmic Visions Program of the European Space Agency. The primary goal of the mission is to investigate the nature of dark energy and dark matter by measuring the accelerated expansion of the universe using different independent methods. The Euclid satellite is expected to be launched in 2020 and has a mission lifetime of five years. The SDCNL is one of eight national data centres which will share the Euclid processing. The Kapteyn Institute has particular responsibilities for the development of two key components of the Euclid Science Ground System. Firstly it is the colead of the organisation unit responsible for processing the large quantity of groundbased data required by the Euclid mission. Secondly, it leads the development of the Euclid Archive System EAS, in cooperation with the European Space Astronomy Centre in Madrid. The EAS is a core component of the distributed Euclid Science Ground System and underpins all the Euclid processing. Job description. The EAS will be implemented entirely i Python. We seek a scientific programmer to take a major role in the SDCNL. Prototypes of the external data processing pipelines and the EAS have already been developed. These prototypes are written entirely in Python and draw heavily on the technologies used in the successful AstroWISE system, which was developed for the processing of data from the OmegaCAM instrument on the Verylarge Survey Telescope VST. Experience The successful candidate will have experience with Python, SQL, XML, XSD and data modeling. Experience with any of the following would be considered an advantage GridCloud computing, Workflow management systems, UML, SysML, ER, RDBMS, astronomical data processing and astronomical spatial index systems HTM, Healpix. A relevant degree e.g. Astronomy, Computer Science is required and a higher degree would be advantageous. The appointment with the University of Groningen is for a maximum of three years on a temporary contract with the initial appointment for one year extended to up to three years upon successful evaluation before the end of the first year.
