We are looking for a Thermal Mechanical Testing Technician E2 to join our Modis Aerospace team, working onsite at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands. General tasks to be performed Support projects and external customers in the domain of thermal and mechanical experimental verification and environmental testing of small scale space equipment in facilities of the Mechanical Systems Laboratory MSL. Heshe will be involved in all activities related to preparation, execution, and evaluation and reporting under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Manager. Support the development and the maintenance of the laboratory infrastructure and equipment. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 for operational work and support the definition and maintenance of working maintenance procedures for the laboratory facilities. Make regular progress reports. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required At least a Bachelor degree in relevant discipline Thermal Engineering or equivalent Specific knowledge and experience in vibration testing is an asset. Strong background in environmental testing and thermal verification by test. Proven experience in the area of testing with evidence of work in a laboratory and within a team of engineers and technicians. Knowledge of ISO 9001 and 17025 quality systems is an asset. Essential Skills Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team within the boundaries of assigned tasks and a stringent schedule Experience in an international team is required. Fluency in English is required, including the ability to draft technical reports. Good communication skills, problem solving skills and be able to manage relationships, work in a team and be selfmotivating and disciplined. Candidate should also possess very good interpersonal skills, be wellorganised, proactive, selfmotivated and able to work effectively in a matrix structure. Key Tasks and Responsibilities You will be a part of the ESA Propulsion Laboratory EPL at ESAESTEC and have the following taks General maintenance and servicing of EPL equipment and infrastructure Assistance to EPL customers which regards to the test request form, supervision of test requirements definition Definition, preparation and implementation of a specific test setup based on the test request requirements Execution of a test campaign and postprocessing of test results and preparation of test report Support to the maintenance and implementation of the laboratory ISO 9001 accreditation, including EPL documentation system, record keeping and audit preparation Responsibility to raise internal NCRs on equipment malfunction and during test nonconformance, support of the NCR process with external customers Responsible for the EPL electrical installations according to the NEN3140 norm Support for the definition and implementation of investment activities, including liaison with suppliers and the TEC administrator for quotations, purchase orders and acceptance Implementation and maintenance of applicable safety rules and regulations in coordination with ESTEC Health Safety unit.
