A Product Assurance Engineer is required with several years of engineering experience in the field of product assurance for assembly, integration and testing activities in space related industry. The Key Person shall provide support to the ESA Product Assurance Manager in conducting, monitoring and assessing the implementation of the PA plan for all AIT related activities defined for preparation of planetary spacecraft and payload elements. In this area of work, the tasks will typically include Establishing the PA baseline plan for all elements of a planetary science mission Monitoring, reviewing and assessing the performance of industrial contractors against the PA baseline plan Representing ESA at review boards for PA issues related to nonconformance, test and failure reviews and providing all necessary documents and reports Monitoring and guiding the application and procurement of EEE components and materials and controlling the implementation of related procedures and processes Monitoring the manufacturing, integration and test activities with quality assurance audits and configuration inspections Defining and conducting the formal AIT acceptance review in preparation for launch activities In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, the Consultant should have as a prerequisite Several years of professional experience in PA activities related to the space industry Applied knowledge of assembly, integration and testing of spacecraft and payloads Experience in the procurement of EEE components and parts Understanding of interplanetary missions Excellent conceptual and analytical skills Working knowledge and experience in the following areas would be considered an advantage Awareness of safety and risk assessment issues related to interplanetary space missions Knowledge of the design and development lifecycle of science missions and payloads Working in an international framework The Key Person shall have good communications skills, to allow the effective communication of information under a variety of circumstances. A Software Product Assurance Engineer role has arisen with Astrium in Stevenage. The Software Product Assurance Engineer SPA will support at PrimeProject level The Product Assurance Manager PAM for Software Product Assurance activities, The Procurement Engineers for the Product Assurance of the subcontracted software and the ASICFPGA design models. You will define the project SW PA baseline necessary to satisfy SW PA requirements, ASICFPGA PA requirements, and other projectspecific requirements. You will ensure that subcontractors proposals comply with the PA requirements related to software and to ASICFPGA. You will ensure that an appropriate system is defined and implemented by each SW subcontractor and equipment provider developing ASICFPGA, to obtain and demonstrate compliance to the applicable requirements. Typical tasks include For general Software Product Assurance Prepare and maintain the Software Product Assurance Plan SPAP. Interface with PAM and Customer on all subjects related to SW PA. Manage the Product Assurance actions list related to software. Participate in Project and Quality progress meetings as necessary. Participate in project risk identification and analysis. Support or participate in reviews performed at system level that include software aspects. Control software related documents produced by the system engineering team. For Product Assurance of the subcontracted software Coordinate with the procurement engineer. Produce the Software Product Assurance Requirements SPAR. Participate in the drafting of the SOW. Verify the compliance of subcontractors proposal SOC, SQAP, SCMP, SRF. Perform preventive and corrective audits of the subcontractor as necessary. Contribute to the definition of ASICFPGA PA and the ASICFPGA designvalidationproduction requirements that will be made applicable to the subcontractor. Verify the compliance of subcontractors proposal SOC, ASICFPGA plans. Verify the correctness of the processes implemented by the subcontractor. Support ASICFPGA or equipment reviews with the subcontractor, including involvement of ASICFPGA experts when relevant The successful applicant will demonstrate the following skills and experience Educated to Degree Level or Equivalent Extensive experience of Product Assurance Experience of Quality Product Assurance on Embedded Software A background in Space, Aerospace, or Defence is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Embedded Software, Spaceaerospace, and Product Assurance. Position Overview A new position is available within the Space Engineering team at ACRA to take responsibility for product assurance and safety activities for data handling equipment developed for space applications. The ideal candidate is an allrounder with a mix of experience in product assurance and safety. Some background in electronic andor mechanical design and project management is desirable. Heshe needs to be able to take responsibility for endtoend delivery of project deliverables including all critical product assurance and safety documentation.
