Job description For our customer, the European Space Agency ESA, we are seeking an experienced Product Assurance and Safety PAS Engineer to work at ESAs ESTEC site in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Responsibilities You will be assigned to ESAESTECs Product Assurance Management Section within the Directorate of Technical and Quality Management. You will provide integrated support to the Galileo satellite navigation project being technically managed by ESA on behalf of the EU. Specifically, to the System level PAS Unit in all the activities related to the execution of the Galileo System Product Assurance and Safety Programme. This includes the following main tasks Provide PAS support to the Galileo System Integration and Verification SIV activities Review test procedures and test reports Witness test executions and report on the status and major issues Participate in test reviews TRRs, PTRs, TRBs Support configuration inspections as needed Supporting the process for evaluation and approval of industrial contractors waivers and deviations and the preparation of ESA System waivers and deviations Contribute to the identification and processing of nonconformances and to the proceedings of the Galileo Nonconformance Review Boards NRB Participate in Project Reviews at System level, and at Segment level Ground, Space, and User when requested, by reviewing documentations, raising comments and RIDs, discussing them with industry and providing feedback particularly on major critical areas Provide PAS support to the GNSS Evolution development activities as required Provide PAS support to Galileo Security related activities as required Maintain the Office PAS tools and repositories Support the maintenance of the Navigation Directorate Quality Management System and the implementation of other Management Systems e.g. Information Security. This is a fulltime position located at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The requested start of work is AugustSeptember 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. Qualifications Competencies The successful candidate shall have A Masters level degree in an engineering discipline or the technical sciences. A minimum of 10 years experience in the space sector include 5 years in a Product and Quality Assurance role. Good knowledge of the applicable space standards ECSS series. Excellent interpersonal skills are needed, together with a high degree of organizational and communication abilities, and comfortable with working in a diverse and multinational team environment. Knowledge of Configuration Management or the implementation of Product Assurance within a quality system certified to ISO 9001 would be an asset. Prior knowledge of the Galileo project or similar complexsatellite navigation space projects would be an advantage. Note Eligibility for obtaining national security clearance will be required.
