Your Tasks The position aims to support existing Client Operational or preOperational systems MSG, EPS, MultiMission Elements..., and possibly future programmes MTG, EPSSG.... During the PreOperations and Routine Operations phases and in the frame of the configuration identification phase, the tasks of the Contractor will typically include the creationmodificationdeletion and the version tracking of the following Configuration Items Hardware items e.g. computers, infrastructure Comms equipments Software items e.g. Software applications, COTS and associated Licences Documentation e.g. SpacecraftGround Segment Operational Guides, Manuals and Procedures. In support to Change control processes, the Key person shall Administer and perform an endtoend tracking of Change Requests and Proposals Administer and perform an endtoend tracking of Configuration Items impacted by approved Changes, and related actions Keep up to date the database recording the mapping between Changes and Configuration Items, and the mapping of Software items onto Hardware items Prepare and present baselines as necessary Act as the Secretary for the Change Review Board meetings, alternatively with other Configuration Management team members. In support to configuration status accounting and auditing processes, the Key person shall Issue and present Configuration Status Accounting Reports as necessary Perform Configuration Management Inspections and Audits, and present related findings as necessary. In support to the Anomaly Reports tracking process, the Key person shall Organise and support the administration and tracking of Anomaly Reports ensuring the timely closure of Anomalies and associated actions Support Anomaly Review Board ARB meetings in the secretarial aspects, alternatively with other Configuration Management team members. In support to application software development or maintenance processes, the Key person shall Ensure the proper identification and archiving of software releases delivered by external or internal maintenance teams Witness and crosscheck activities relevant to software installation Provide support to the configuration management of source code and data files. Finally, the Key person will be requested to Actively contribute to the definition, implementation and continuous improvements of the Configuration Management processes document owned by the CM team Actively contribute to the definition, implementation and continuous improvements of the Configuration Management Guides and Manuals owned by the CM team Provide diligent support to CM Processes and Tool usersstakeholders first level support, workshops, training sessions Actively participate in the testing of the new releases of the Configuration Management tool Occasionally, attend technical meetings and participate in formal reviews. Your Profile In addition to a University degree in computer science or engineering, the Key Person shall have a demonstrated experience of at least 5 years conducting and implementing Configuration Management of large scale, softwarecentred systems in an operational environment, preferably for highavailability 24hday systems like e.g. processingproduction chains, data centres or satellite systems. Experience in Quality Assurance, space system project control andor process modelling of largescale systems with a very good understanding of project development life cycle methodologies would be considered, providing that adequate knowledge and involvement in Configuration Management activities is also demonstrated. Following skills are mandatory Proven significant knowledge and experience in specifying, reviewing and implementing Configuration Management plans, processes and working practices, or at least extensive experience in providing management support to programmes or projects in development Significant experience in project development methodologies, and in particular in configuration management including the definition or review of upstream source code configuration management requirements, control of configuration evolutions of systems software, hardware, databases, satellite and ground system procedures, documents, media, COTS software and COTS Licences, up to the testing and deployment of new releases on configuration controlled environments Extensive knowledge and experience with configuration management tools e.g. Serena Dimensions CM, Jira or Clearcase or business process management tools electronic workflows Experience of software development on a medium or large size project Extensive knowledge and experience with process modelling tools and techniques. Extensive knowledge and experience of a Configuration Management, Quality Assurance or Project Management standard e.g. ISO, ANSI, ECSS, CMMI Proven experience in planning, developing and implementing training sessions andor coaching sessions to users and stakeholders. Summary An experienced and knowledgeable Materials Engineer is required to work onsite at ESTEC. Objective To support Product Assurance and Safety with Materials and process engineering. Responsibilities Duties This work package covers the following activities in a non exhaustive manner Testing of adhesive bonding systems and processes, including adhesives applications for metals and nonmetallic materials Selection of specific adhesives for specific end uses e.g. extreme temperature applications, integrity under thermal loads Performing general failure analysis of materials and assemblies with emphasis on adhesion issues Evaluation of surface treatments and its effects on bonding systems Longterm durability of adhesive joints Surface modification and analysis due to space environmental effects like atomic oxygen and plasma effects Performing materials qualification programmes for nonmetallic materials and analysis Stabilisation and degradation analysis of nonmetallic materials under space environmental conditions Producing clear and professional reports as specified for the task.
