(Telecompaper) The Vodafone Group has announced a five-point plan to help counter the impact of the covid-19 (coronavirus) outbreak. Under the plan, the company said it will seek to maintain the quality of service of its networks, provide network capacity and services for critical government functions, improve the dissemination of information to the public, help people working from home and SMEs within its Supply Chain, and help government get insight into people's movements in affected areas.

Icelandic watchdog goes ahead with allocation of 5G spectrum to Nova, Siminn and Vodafone

(Telecompaper) The Icelandic Post and Telecom Administration (PTA) said it will go ahead with plans to allocate 5G frequency permits for 3.6 GHz spectrum to Nova, Siminn and Vodafone Iceland, as set out in the draft put out for consultation in December. The permits will be valid only until 31 December 2021.

EU approves Vodafone, TIM towers deal with conditions

(Telecompaper) The EC added that the newly-merged Inwit will only be able to refuse to provide space on such towers for technical reasons, setting out in writing the reasons for such refusal and allowing an independent expert to resolve any possible disputes. Additional conditions include a commitment on the part of Inwit, Telecom Italia and Vodafone not to exercise any early termination right as regards all existing hosting contracts and framework agreements in place and a pledge to offer the opportunity to extend those contracts and agreements.
