LSE Space is looking for an experienced Technician mf in order to fulfill the duty of HARDWARE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN for our customer ESAESOC in DarmstadtGermany. For our activities in the European Space Agency, we are currently seeking to employ a highly motivated and enthusiastic Hardware Maintenance Technician to work in an exciting innovative international environment. The role will be part of a newly established Network Operations Centre NOC tasked with coordinating, configuring and monitoring activities related to the ESA ground segment, specifically the Telemetry, Tracking and Command TTC stations of the ESTRACK ground station network. The NOC is responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line support to the ESA space missions and its users. It provides Ground Operations, Operational IT and Operational Control Centre services and acts as single point of contact for realtime service requests from ESTRACK customers. The hardware maintenance team looks after the operational IT hardware, the local data centres and wiring centres as well as the operational control rooms on site. The primary responsibilities of this role will be Main responsibilities The main tasks of the Hardware Maintenance Technician will be Hardware installations Hardware maintenance and support Mechanical integration Electrical safety testing Cable installation, testing and patching Spare part management Shipping and handling of equipment deliveries Configuration management Testing Preventive maintenance Control room refurbishment Reporting Incident handling Support of LEOP launch and early orbit activities including occasional shift work Support of refurbishment projectsengineering activities. Ideal candidate Applicants need to have a solid background in IToperational support. DGUV certification electrical safety testing a plus. Specific Requirements You will possess the following qualities Excellent knowledge of common data centre infrastructures, including wiring concepts, cooling and power distribution Excellent knowledge of common IT hardware server, racks, network devices and wiring technologies Excellent experience in trouble shooting and fault analysis Fluent in English, both in speech and writing Selfstarter, able to work independently with little or no supervision Teamplayer, able to interface with technical and management personnel Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several tasks in parallel Able to work on shifts occasionally Solid IT knowledge, including common hardware, networking concepts and common tools and software applications Service mentality and solid understanding of a KPI driven service environment PC literacy MS Office Products, Lotus Notes. Teleport Infrastructure Maintenance Technician Reports to Teleport Manager Job Purpose The role is responsible for ensuring that all teleport sites equipment systems, including the RF facilities, are functioning 247 as per predefined standards and procedures. Key Account Abilities 1. Perform all the required maintenance activities for the equipment systems in the Teleport. These activities include Calibrations Planned MaintenancePreventive Troubleshooting Monitoring Repairing 2. Perform new installations and delta ones for indoor outdoor 3. Perform system hardware upgradingfixing following the suppliers instructions. 4. Coordinates with Teleport team for all related activities. 5. Work with other technical teams to ensure the continuity of all running services. 6. Perform activities with high quality of performance and according to the related procedures Minimum Qualifications Diploma in Electrical or Telecom Engineering or equivalent degree Minimum Experience 58 years experience in satellite ground stations.
