Your Tasks Include The Consultant shall accomplish the following tasks Engineering Support Tasks Task 1 SAF Network Management Review Support The SAF Network Management supports the overall SAF Review processes, for all development oriented SAF Reviews, SAF Network Management being responsible for the timely and effective initiation, preparation and conduction of these review. Task 1.1To support the organisation of the SAF reviews related to the evolution of SAF products or operational chains already in operations Task 1.2To support the organisation of the SAF reviews related to the development of new SAF products or operational chains, in particular in relation to the implementation of requirements related to the new satellite programmes in development and in particular MTG and EPSSG Task 1.3To act, if requested, as secretary of SAF Reviews. Task 2 Support to followon of new SAF Developments For new SAF developments there is a need to properly follow the progress of the related life cycles and to ensure that new products or operational chains are properly verifiedvalidated. Task 2.1Support the activities for the followon of new SAF Developments, including evolution of requirements, evolution of design and interfaces, with respect to baseline plans. In this respect, the Contractor will support the analysis and assessment of requirements, design, interface documentation and related plans. Task 2.2Support the establishment and maintenance of the technical baseline Requirements, Design, VV of each SAF, including generation of synthesis elements to be made available via InternetExtranet. Task 2.3Support the supervision and assessment of SAF Verification and Validation activities for all new productsoperational chains, in particular in terms of o Evaluation of the test progress of the SAF with respect to Client Multi Mission Elements MME of the Ground Segment Dissemination and ArchivingRetrieval o Evaluation of the coherence of the SAFs Verification and Validation plans and Test Records with respect to the programme Verification and Validation approach of new satellite programmes in development o To control and perform the distribution to SAFs of Test Data related to new satellite programmes in development for use by SAFs for verification and validation purposed o To organise Verification Validation Results provided by SAFs for inclusion in the Verification Validation Files of the new programmes in development. Webbased SUPPORT TASKS Task 3 SAF Web Area maintenance The Client SAF Web Area encompasses a suite of webbased tools necessary to sup port PRS activities. Examples are common tool supporting the SAF Reviews and control of the SAF baseline. Such systems and tools need to be kept uptodate in line with progress of SAF developments. Task 3.1 Maintain, and refine the SAF Network Management Intranet and Extranet areas and related content Task 3.2 In particular, maintain and update the Client Webbased Review Support Tool based on the concept of Review Items Discrepancies, RIDs, according to needs of the SAF Network and other Client activities. Task 4 Maintenance of Web Content and Documentation Baseline The continuous evolution of the SAF Network requires systematic updates to the contents of related pages in addition to maintaining their coherence with the interlinked external web sites e.g. SAFs Leading Entities, relevant International Initiatives. This requires continuous cross checks between Client SAF Web pages and external pages. In addition, using the Client Web Site framework, the consultant shall support the conception of appropriate Web Pages allowing the retrieval the SAF Baseline as identified in Task 2 above. Task 4.1 Maintenance of Client SAFs Web Area contents Internet and Intra net Task 4.2Maintenance and Synchronisation of the archived Documentation Baseline with the related SAF Web sites Documentation Baseline Task 4.3 Ingestion of the related new documentation metadata into the supporting Database Task 4.4 Maintenance of the SAF System Architectural synthesis available through the Web Task 4.5Representation of PRS at crossorganisational Web Service related meetings. Task 5 Support the SAF Steering Group Meetings SAF Steering Groups meet nominally twice a year. A set of documents related to each Steering Group meeting is delivered by the SAF leading Entity concerns. The SAF Web Extranet will be used to support these activities by providing the access of the documentation that is relevant to each Steering Group meeting. Task 5 Maintenance of SAF Web pages supporting SAFs Steering Groups and al lowing access to relevant documentation. Task 6 Maintain the SAF FTP Server A dedicated FTP Server is available for the exchange of documentation between the SAFs and Client. This FTP server supports specific SAF reviews and also a dedicated documentation exchange during different phases of a SAF project. Task 6 Maintenance of the SAF FTP Server and its dedicated directories. Your Profile As a minimum, the consultant shall have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent, and a proven experience and skills as specified hereafter. Experience Mandatory Knowledge in Ground Segment Engineering lifecycles Experience in Project Reviews Organisation and conduction Experience in requirements definition and traceability Knowledge in engineering standard used in Ground Segment Development as ECSS Extensive experience in WEB application in designing, implementing and maintaining web content and services in Internet, Intranet and Extranet systems across distributed web sites Experience in using Web Contents Management Systems. Domain Skills Experience minimum 3 years in the definition of system requirements and production of system architectural design artefacts in the domain of the Mission Control Applications of a Ground Segment. Support the development of climate services, especially international and intergovernmental public sector markets, including climate data visualisation. Requirements Applicants should have a university degree or equivalent qualification in physics, engineering or a relevant Earth sciencesdiscipline. This post requires extensive professional experience on product definition, archiving and distribution, algorithm development, quality assessment and exploitation of Earth Observation data, particularly ESA missions. an established profile of dialoguing the with EO research communities in disciplines relevant for climate.
